The food science and engineering major of Hefei University of Technology is a national first-class undergraduate major, a national characteristic major, and a major that has passed the international engineering education certification.The discipline is in the advanced ranks of similar disciplines in China,whichis a national key discipline and a key construction discipline of the "211" project, with a first-level discipline doctoral program and a postdoctoral research station.
Objectives

Train students to become senior professionals who can engage in scientific research, product development, engineering design, quality control, production management, inspection and quarantine in food and related fields.
Main courses
It has three professional directions: food engineering and equipment, food quality and safety, and food biotechnology, and offers major professional courses such as food chemistry, food technology, food engineering principle, food nutrition and safety, food analysis and testing, food machinery and equipment, food factory design and environmental protection.

The students of this major have the distinctive characteristics of excellent academic support conditions, thick professional knowledge foundation, strong engineering practice ability and broad employment scope. Graduates can be engaged in technical or management work in Chinese and foreign-funded enterprises in the food, light industry, domestic and foreign trade industries, industrial and commercial health inspection, customs, government agencies and other departments.
The duration of study is four years, and a Bachelor of Engineering degree is awarded upon graduation.
